Kit Wostenholm is a senior member of the management team of Crestcare (a Summit Private Equity Fund portfolio company), with over 23 years healthcare sector experience. Kit’s day-today responsibilities include the development, commissioning, and operational management of hospitals in which the Summit Private Equity Fund has invested. His particular focus is growing the operational and activity components of Apex Soweto Day Hospital and the 3rd-party owned New Era Health Day Hospital. He is also the champion of the new 84-bed acute hospital in Malmesbury, Western Cape, which will be completed in 2024. Kit has extensive experience managing large hospitals with a focus on doctor driven engagement and patient-centric initiatives.

Kit was previously at the helm of Olivedale and Linksfield Hospitals (part of the Netcare Hospital Group, the largest private healthcare provider in South Africa), where he was responsible for the development of the cardiac, intensive care wing, upgrading of the theatre complex, and remodelling of the maternity and neonatal units amongst other things. Kit has considerable experience providing support to the South African Public Healthcare Sector, where he has provided insight and input into the management of the central and regional hospitals of the Gauteng Department of Health and Eastern Cape Department of Health. Kit’s experience includes the assessment and redesign of 60 HIV testing stations and clinics in the Northern Cape and Limpopo Provinces.
